From the Frankston Citizen dated July 28, 1983 --- LUCIOUS DICKERSON Funeral services for Lucious Lee Dickerson, 73, of Poynor were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 25, in the Poynor Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial was in the Poynor Cemetery under the direction of the Foster and Brown Funeral Home in Athens. Mr. Dickerson died in a Jacksonville hospital Saturday, July 23, after a short illness. He was born July 19, 1910, in Poynor, and lived in the LaRue and Poynor area most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Poynor Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs Lucious (Dovie) Dickerson of Poynor; two sons, Nealy Dickerson of Palestine and L.D. Dickerson of Frankston; one daughter, Mrs. Travis (Nellie Jane) Pickering of Dallas; two brothers, Nealy Dickerson of Chandler and Lawrence Dickerson of Crandall; one sister, Edna Earl Moore of Cedar Creek; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Robert Pagitt, Steve Westbrook, Jesse Smith, Keith Bristow, Ross Dickerson and Lee Dickerson.
