Bio
In his younger life, Joe Moffatt moved to Cayote Community in Bosque County, Texas where he lived until about 1910. He then lived at or near Clifton Texas for the rest of his live. He married Amelia Killgore on 20 Mar 1898 at Cayote, Texas. They had two sons and four daughters. In addition, Joe and Amelia helped raise four children of Amelia's brother after her brother died. Joe and Amelia went on to own their own land and purchased businesses and were well respected in the Clifton area. Amelia had a stroke and was bedridden and paralyzed for several years during which Joe took care of her. Joe Moffatt also raised three of his grandchildren by himself. He took them to raise about 6 months before Amelia passed away. His family was everything to him. He always put them first in his life. He dressed up like Santa every year for all of the grandchildren. He cooked wonderful meals and kept his family close. He was a member of the Methodist Church since boyhood. His family will long remember him. A child not listed below is Lana Moffatt born 23 Jan 1908 and died on 26 Dec 2002. She is buried at Meridian Cemetery, TX.
