Helen is the daughter of Squire and Elizabeth Kepler Woodruff. She married Greene Wood Davis on January 30, 1898, in Moultrie County, IL. Their children: Mrs. Merle (Thomas), Melvin and Mrs. Gertrude Helen Newbould. Her and Green divorced. she then married John Daum. They also divorced. Newspaper article: Feb. 4, 1898, The Daily Review, Decatur, IL. Surpised Their Friends Greene Davis and Miss Helen Woodruff were married Sunday evening, Jan. 30, by Elder Weaver of the Christian Church. The ceremony was performed at the home of Elder Weaver. The wedding was a surprise to everyone, not even the relatives of the couple, being apprised of their intended marriage. The bride is the daughter of Squire Woodruff of this city, and at one time resident of Decatur. She is known as one of Moultrie County's most successful young school teachers. The groom is a prosperous young farmer and has charge of Aaron Mill's farm, near Sullivan, where they will reside. Mr. and Mrs. Davis left Monday noon for a short visit with Mr. Davis' brother at Allensville.
