James Alvers Johnson, 66, of Bandera, Texas, passed away July 26, 2008. Funeral services were held at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, in De Ridder, Louisiana, at 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 30. Officiating was Rev. Arlen Smith. Burial was conducted at the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cravens, Louisiana. Mr. Johnson is survived by: Son, Michael "Dusty" Jeter and wife, Susan Leigh of Bandera, TX, Daughters, Etta Latane Johnson and husband, Steve of Dothan, AL, Marilyn Diane Krolczyk of Prince Fredrick, MD, Brother, John P. Johnson and wife Phyllis of DeRidder, LA, Sisters, Betty J. Cunningham and husband Rickey of DeRidder, LA, Magdalene Afeman and husband Larry Jerral of Hineston, LA, Kolean"Kokie" Gill and husband Ronnie of DeRidder, LA, Mother, Ezell White Johnson of DeRidder, LA, Grandchildren, Cody Rane Johnson, Zoe Latane Johnson, Bradley Shane Krolczyk, Brian Anthony Krolczyk and Anton John Krolczyk. He was preceded in death By: Wife, Mary Etta Johnson, son, Milton Russell Jeter, Father, Mitchell Winfred Johnson, Brother, George T. Johnson, Grandparents, George and Beedie White and Thomas Mitchell and Rosella Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a native of Cravens, Louisiana, graduate of Pitkin High School and lived most of his adult life in Houston and Warren, Texas. He was a true sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Houston Bass Club and Big Thicket Bass Club.
