The Lamar County Echo, November 1977. 'Mrs. Lillian Durling, 70, died Thursday, October 27, 1977, 1224 St. Nichols Ave. in New York, NY. She was formally of Paris. Services were held Monday, October 31, at the Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Chapel. Internment was made at the Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Durling was born in Paris, February 14, 1907, daughter of John Henry Davis and Viola Gertrude Suddeth Davis. She married Harry L. Durling April 1, 1943 who preceded her in death October 12, 1961. She attended Paris public schools and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Joe Strickland of Paris; one aunt, Mrs. Odis Brazeal of Paris; several other relatives. Pallbearers were J. T. Davis, Newt Davis, Chester Arnold, Carl Foster, John Simmons and Alvie Owens'.
