Lucille Juanita Robinson, 83, of Lorena, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Hale officiating. Burial will follow at the Moody Cemetery in Moody. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home. Juanita was born in Thornton, Texas, to the late Melvin and Ethel Vinsant Rhodes. She attended Thornton High School and lived in the Waco area all of her life. She participated in "Spelling Bees" in school and won several, and also played baseball and basketball. Juanita was a member of the Methodist Church. Juanita worked for the bomb plant in McGregor, as a waitress/cook, worked at Certainteed and then Specno until retiring. Juanita was a "spunky", feisty, determined and very loving person. She dearly loved her family and spoiling her daughter, grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Robinson; and a brother, Elmer Rhodes. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Vickie Caplinger and husband, Chuck, of Moody; grandchildren, Luci Alamanza and husband, John, of Lorena, and Beth Caplinger and Kim Rotharmel and husband, John, all of Colorado; great-grandchildren, John, Joshua and Natalie Alamanza, and Devon Rotharmel; brother, Kelton Rhodes, of Dallas; sisters, Muzette Harnet, of Mexia, and Mary Soukup, of Dallas; as well as a large extended family.
