He died on Sep 14 1926, in Hillsboro, Hill, Texas, in a hotel (Browning Flats) fire along with along with his mother, Florine Addie, and his aunt, Alma Dean Roberts. Wilbur Raymond "Ray" was named after Florine's brother, Wilbur.
