Research and Bio by: Marilyn (Nutter) Pederson Source: Rogers Democrat 27 January 1921 Sawrey, Martha Cynthia King, from (Hebron) born Bedford County Tennessee, January 29, 1859, lived there until 10 years of age, Moved to Missouri and resided there until she was 18, and moved to Arkansas, where she has spent the rest of her life, was married to W. T. Sawrey, June 13, 1883, to them were born 6 children, two dying in infancy, those living are Mrs. Carol Gilmore, of Cawker City Kansas, Mrs Edgar Barnes, of Rogers, Nelly Sawrey, of Cave Springs. and Miss Mary Sawrey. Her husband survives and also her aged Mother. Mrs. Mary King, and one sister Mrs. Cyrus Sikes, of Missouri, two brothers, John and Sam King, of Lowell, she professed faith in her savior when 19, and joined the Church at Oakley Chapel and afterwards transferred her membership to Hebron Church, and has lived a faithful member. She has been in failing health for a year but had been confined to the bed for 15 weeks, she was a faithful wife, devoted mother, spending most of her life in service for home and family.
