Bio

Bill JONES, Prominent Taylor County Stock Farmer, Dies W. E. (Bill) JONES, 58, prominent Taylor County stock farmer, died in Hendrick Memorial Hospital at 7:40 p.m. Saturday. Mr. JONES, who had been ill since last June, developed pneumonia two days ago. He had recently returned from Temple where he spent 23 days in the Scott and White Hospital. His health had been failing since last June. Mr. JONES was well-known as a mule dealer. At one time he sent mules all over the United States and to foreign countries as well. In recent years he had been feeding out graded cattle, and farming. He made news recently when neighbors voluntarily sewed grain and "laid his farm away" for the winter so that he could go to the Temple hospital. He was born July 4, 1892, at Greenville, in Hunt County and moved to Abilene in 1915. The JONES farm is located on the Camp Barkeley highway. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Elliott's Chapel of Memories, wit Dr. Millard A. JENKENS, retired pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery will be directed by Elliott's. Pallbearers are to be Henry ANTILLEY, Willard VINSON, Bob McDANIEL, Parker JAMESON, Lloyd BRIDGES, and Roscoe BLANKENSHIP.
