*** Note: Even though gravestone shows 4 March 1916 as death date, death certificate shows death date as 1 March 1916, she died at her daughter's home in Purdy, Missouri listed as a widow. Nancy Plumlee, first married George R. Leonard October 07, 1852 in Stone Co, MO and had three children: William Leonard (m. ), David Francis Leonard (m. Frances Catherine Rogers), and Mary Rachel Leonard (m. William Robert Mitchell). Husband George R. Leonard died of pneumonia while serving in the Civil War in Fayetteville, AR and is buried there. She married (2) Isaac Newton Elliot Johnson February 02, 1868 and had one child, Joel Marion Johnson findagrave #8879945 On a census after her second marriage her Leonard children still living with her are mistakenly listed with last name of Johnson because of their step father being Head of household. After the death of her second husband Nancy visited and died while with her daughter, Mary Rachel (Leonard) Mitchell in Purdy, MO.
