THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, May 18, 2000, page 8: Leona C. Crutchfield, 82, of Paris died Monday, May 16, 2000, in Watauga. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cary Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Crutchfield was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Fort Towson, Okla., to Andrew Jackson and Fannie Josephine Smith Rushing. She married Albert Allen Crutchfield Jan. 11, 1936. He died Dec. 15, 1973. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Surviving are sons, Edgar Dee Crutchfield, Joe M. Crutchfield, Jerry M. Crutchfield, Ervin A. Crutchfield, Cecil Crutchfield, Bobby Crutchfield and Johnny Crutchfield; daughters, Edna E. Webb, Florence L. Jones, Judy Hornbeck, Sharon Austin, Kathy Evans, and Torchie Beatty; a sister, Nona D. Haley; two brothers, Rudy Rushing and Levi Rushing; over 50 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dora Beatty, and a grandson, Kevin Evans. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
