Mr. Phillip E. Aaron, age 92, farmer/timber grower, and a 69-year resident of George County, died of heart failure April 9 at Benndale Personal Care Home in Benndale, where he was a resident with loving care for the last three-and-a-half years. Mr. Aaron was born in Liberty, Mississippi, in 1909, where he became a high school football star. He attended the Louisiana State University, majoring in engineering. He became an expert in building ice plants during the 1930's, later owning the Lucedale Ice Plant in Lucedale for several years. Also, Mr. Aaron was a Victory Worker for Ingalls Shipyard at Pascagoula for several years. And finally, he acquired farm acreage in and around Lucedale where he raised cattle and grew timber. Mr.. Aaron was a 32 degree Mason and a colonel on the staff of Governor Paul B. Johnson. Mr. Aaron was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dora Carter Aaron. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at George County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Poole officiating.
