Thanks to contributor #48441611: Mildred H. Spencer Bell, 94, of Fremont died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at her home at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont. She was born July 2, 1914, in Saunders County to Frank and Frances (Stejskal) Hoffman. She grew up near Linwood and attended rural District 80 School in Saunders County. She graduated from Linwood High School in 1930. She previously lived in Omaha, California and Phoenix. She moved to Fremont in 2003. While living in Omaha, she worked as a beautician for several years and then was employed as a secretary for John Deere at Omaha for a few years. She attended California School of Beauty Culture in Omaha. She was a former member of the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Tucson, Ariz. Survivors include: a stepson, James (and wife, Joyce) Spencer of Shawnee, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Mary (and husband, Robert) Schriefer of North Platte; a sister-in-law, Lee Hoffman of Lincoln; five stepgrandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three husbands, C. William Hiner, Timothy J. Spencer and Robert Bell; two sisters, Clara Janovec and Blanche Zeller; and two brothers, Albin A.J. and Robert F. Hoffman. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Timothy P. Anderson of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Omaha. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society and Shalimar Gardens
