Thanks to contributor #47466150; Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Monday, July 25, 1966 LOUP CITY (Special Dispatch)--Funeral services for Steven E. Slobaszewski, 73, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. Mr. Slobaszewski died Sunday afternoon of a heart attack while taking tickets at an American Legion baseball tournament in Loup City. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Steele Funeral Home in Loup City. The Rev. Daniel Fishburn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Josaphat's Cemetery. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Loup City and Ashton American Legions. Mr. Slobaszewski was born Oct. 17, 1892, to Martin and Maryanna (Wezorek) Slobaszewski in Sherman County. He married Domicella Roschynialski in Rockville on April 20, 1921. A World War I veteran, Mr. Slobaszewski farmed near Ashton before he retired and moved to Loup City. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Rosemary at home and Mrs. Ralph Mrkvicka of Grand Island; two sons, Ralph and Alvin both of Ashton; one brother, Walter of Oregon; one sister, Mrs. Vonner Heitz of Eddyville; five grandchildren and one step-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
