Thanks to contributor #47466150 Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Saturday, 14 June 1984 LOUP CITY - Frank Placzek, 88, of Loup City, died Friday at an Omaha nursing home where he had lived for the last five years. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Josaphat's Catholic Church at Loup City with the Rev. John Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Placzek was born July 7, 1895, at Tarnov to Martin and Sophie Olszowka Placzek. He attended school at Tarnov, and moved with his family to Loup City at an early age. On May 13, 1919, he married Clara Dymek at Loup City. They farmed near here until 1946, when they moved to a farm near St. Paul. In 1966 they moved to Loup City when they retired. Mr. Placzek was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by three sons, Clarence of Loup City, Harry of St. Paul, and Vern of Great Falls, Mont.; two daughters, Mrs. William (Edna) Hamilton of Omaha, and Mrs. Joseph (Ilene) Guido of Bellevue; a brother, Louis of Loup City; 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978 and a son, Carl.
