Thanks to contributor #47466150; Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Thursday, 10 April 1969 LOUP CITY - Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Josaphats Catholic Church in Loup City for Charles(Carl) Placzek, 77, a retired farmer. Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery. Rosary was scheduled to be recited Friday evening at 8 at Badura Funeral Home in Loup City. Mr. Placzek died Wednesday in a Loup City hospital following a short illness. He was born Sept. 1, 1891, at Tarnov, the son of Martin and Sophia Osulfka Placzek. He came to Sherman County with his parents at the age of 17. On Jan. 27, 1919, he married Paulen Kosmicki at Ashton. The couple farmed in Sherman County until 1952, when they retired into Loup City. Surviving are his widow and three brothers, Frank, Louie and Stanley, all of Loup City. Mr. Placzek was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
