Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 30, at 8:30 o'clock a.m. at the St. Josaphat's Catholic church for Dominic W. Kuszak, 43. Rev Henry J. Bednarczyk offered the Requiem High Mass with the school choir assisting. Burial was in the St. Josaphat's cemetery. Rev. Daniel Fishburn read the grave -side ritual. The Loup City American Legion conducted the Military graveside burial. Badura Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Norman Woitalewicz, Ord; Leonard Woitalewicz, Danny Markvicka, Dennis R. Kuszak, Ashton; Dennis I. Kuszak, Arcadia and Anzel Mroczek. Dominic, son of Alex and Rose Woitalewicz Kuszak, was born on a farm near Ashton November 11, 1916. He attended schools and helped his parents on a farm. He was inducted into the army at Ft. Crook, Nebr. February 8, 1943. After finishing his basic training, he qualified as a tractor operator in the 718 Amphibious Tractor Battalion, serving in the Pacific theatre of operations. He received the following medals: American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Bronze Service Arrowhead, Pacific Theatre, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and two Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged from the army as a Technician Grade Five February 6, 1946 at Ft. Logan, Colorado. He was united in marriage to Henrietta Michalski August 6, 1949 and they made their home on a farm near Loup City until 1955. Since that time he has been employed as a carpenter. He entered the Veteran's hospital 20 before his death, Thursday, May 26, 1960. Survivors are his wife, Henrietta, children, Karen 10, David 6, Marlene 4, and Michael 5 months; his parents; sister, Mrs. Hubert Budzinski, Loup City; brothers, Clemence, Ben, Edwin, Harry and Ernest of Ashton and Louie of Loup City.
