Bio

Thanks to contributor #47226369; Raymond Jablonski, 25, Buried Here Saturday Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 22, at nine o'clock a.m. at St. Josaphat's Catholic church by Father August Wajckus for Raymond Marion Jablonski, 25, who was killed in a pick-up accident near Otis, Colo., last Wednesday, July 19. Pallbearers were Leon Golka, Richard Golka, Donald Silver, Alvin Gembala, Jimmie Gembala, and John Gembala, all cousins of the deceased. Burial was in St. Josaphat's cemetery. The young man was one of four workers who were passengers in a pick-up that was following the wheat harvest in eastern Colorado. The light truck apparently struck loose gravel and overturned, crushing Mr. Jablonski, who was riding in the truck box, and hospitalizing others, including two Alabamans. The truck was owned by Ed Knebel of Brule, a cousin of Raymond Jablonski. He was born Oct. 24, 1924, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jablonski of Loup City. He grew up on a farm nine miles west of Ord, attending schools in Valley county. He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Leonard of Brule and Ernest of Loup City; and three sisters, Mrs. Dean Robbins of Ogallala, Loraine of York, and Irene of Loup City. Those attending the funeral from out of town included Ed Knebel and daughter, Lucille, of Brule; Felix Knebel of Grant; Joe Silver of Ogallala; and many relatives and friends from the Ord neighborhood.
