The Columbus Daily Telegram , September 5, 1951 KENNEDY-- Last Rites Here Friday For Mrs. Thomas Kennedy Mrs. Thomas Kennedy, 26, the former Norma Mae Spitz, died about 6:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist hospital in Omaha. She had been ill during the past year. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gass funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. A.H. Guettler will officiate and burial will be made in Roselawn Memorial park. The body will lie in state at the Gass funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday till the time of the funeral services. Mrs. Kennedy, born Aug. 1, 1925 in Polk county, was the daughter of Theodore John and Emma Michaelson Spitz. She attended grade school at Genoa, and was graduated from Kramer high school, Columbus. Later she worked for some time at the Grand Island Army Air Field. Her marriage to Thomas Kennedy took place Nov. 10, 1945 at Ft. Worth, Tex., and they made their home in that state for five years before returning to Columbus more than a year ago. Surviving Mrs. Kennedy are her husband; four-year-old son, Dan Lee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore John Spitz of Columbus; one brother, Clarence, of Sargent; three sisters, Mrs. Emogine Case of Chicago, and Geraldine and Patricia, of Columbus; and her paternal grandmother Mrs. Theodore Spitz of Polk county. The Columbus Daily Telegram , September 8 (?), 1951 KENNEDY-- Services Held Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church for Mrs. Thomas Kennedy, 26, who died Tuesday at the Methodist hospital, Omaha. The Rev. A.H. Guettler officiated and burial was made in Roselawn Memorial park. Pallbearers were: Ervin Michaelson, Earl Schmidt, Ray Hessel, Arnold Hollman, Lawrence Kuck and Albert Krumland. Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Don Fisher and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Art Spitznogle of Washington, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. William Kennedy of Lamarque, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Spitz of Cushing; Mrs. Peter Michaelson, Mrs. Ernest Michaelson, Ervin Michaelson, Mr. and Mrs. John Massie of Norfolk; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kuck, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmidt, Herman Schmidt, Chris Michaelson, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hessel, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jaobson, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kuck and family, Earl Schmidt, Mrs. Bob Peterson, Mrs. Earl Steel, all of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Sheer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sheer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kuck, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Kuck, all of St. Libory; Mrs. John McGown of Wood River; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Behrens and Mrs. Glenn Whitmore of Schuyler; Maurice Branigan and son, Bob, of North Bend.
