Patricia J. Muhle, 76, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Columbus Community Hospital. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Thursday at 10:15 AM at the church. Memorials are suggested to that of the donor's or family choice. Patricia J. Muhle was born April 10, 1937, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Theodore John and Emma (Michaelsen) Spitz. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and graduated in 1955 from Kramer High School. On June 29, 1958, Pat was united in marriage to Arnold Muhle at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pat worked at Becton-Dickinson for a short time before moving to the farm in 1965. After the death of their son John in 1985, Pat went to work at Harding Glass in Columbus for several years. Pat enjoyed knitting, sewing, bowling, reading, baking, fishing, camping, jigsaw puzzles, her yard, and flowers. She was very active in the VFW Auxiliary. Patricia is survived by: Husband – Arnold Muhle of Columbus, NE Daughter – Lynn (Tom) Shemek of Columbus, NE Son – Jeff (Reva) Muhle of Leigh, NE Granddaughters – Angie Niedbalski of Columbus, NE; Kristy (Tony) Jensen of Omaha, NE; Blaine Muhle of Omaha, NE; and Brea Muhle of Denver, CO Great Grandchildren – Dylan Niedbalski and Faith Bonsack Brother – Clarence Spitz of Seattle, WA Sister – Jerry Bornemeier of Lincoln, NE Patricia was preceded in death by: Parents – Theodore and Emma Spitz Son – John Muhle Sisters – Jean Case and Norma Kennedy
