Published in The Alabama Courier, Athens, AL, Thursday, June 7, 1945 George H. Siniard, who died after a long illness, June 1, in Selma, was brought back here for funeral services which were held in McConnell's Chapel Sunday at 3 p.m. with Bro. Charles Chumley, minister of the Church of Christ of which the deceased was a member, in charge. Mr. Siniard was 59 years of age at his passing and had been a lifelong resident of Limestone County until January 1 when he moved to Selma to oversee the farms of his brother-in-law, U.G. White. Pallbearers were Mahlon Holland, W.T. Johnson, Bill Andrews, Frank Turner, Thomas Osborne and Milton Johnson. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Verna White Siniard, and four sons, Eugene, Haywood and Billy Clay, all of Selma, and J.T. of Athens; two daughters, Mrs. Don Moore of San Francisco, Calif., and Miss Mary Dean Siniard of Selma; three brothers, Billy, Larkin and Raymond, all of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Gurlin Griffin of Anderson and Mrs. Albert Griffin of Athens; and one granddaughter, Linda Siniard. Some of those from out of town to attend the funeral were Marvin P. Jackson, Ralph and W. F. Pugh, Ollie Hughes, Elmer Falker and daughters, Misses Zadie and Eva Nell, all of Selma, Mr. and Mrs. Noble White, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey White, and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Thurman of Pulaski and D.E. White of Minor Hill.
