Tall headstone
Jacob Warren Miller, was the eleventh child born to Clinton and Martha Miller in Cumberland, Kentucky. Jacob married Isabella Dicken on, 11 November 1875, in Clinton County, Kentucky. Born to them were ten children. Eight survived childhood. His 2nd son, James Miller, is my 2nd Great Grandfather. Jacob was the jailor in Cumberland, and raised his kids in a house attached to the holding cell. Upon moving to Cannon, TX., in 1885, he became a blacksmith and owned several parcels of land which he sharecropped off. One of the houses he owned is still a private residence. Family legend is that Jacob and James got into an argument either before 1904, or shortly after, and they stopped talking. I can't find anything on that subject. Jacob is buried at the Cannon Cemetery next to his son, John Clinton and his wife, Bloomer. Behind him is his wife, Isabel, her mother, Martha Tallent-Dicken, and his daughter, Esther Miller. To the left of him is his grandson, Willie Bell. His son, James, and his wife, Delia, are buried with their son, Frank, a few yards to the right of him.
