Bio

Funeral services for Dora Knight Blanchard, 79, of DeRidder, were held Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at 10 a.m., at Providence Baptist Church, the Rev. Lonnie Cleveland officiated. Interment followed at Providence Cemetery, under the direction of Chaddick Funeral Home. Mrs. Blanchard passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. She is survived by four daughters, Lillian M. Orton, of DeRidder, Mattie Bills and husband, Boyd, of Beaumont, Texas, Fannie Spann and husband, Morris Bonnett, of Vidor, Texas, and Margaret Blanchard, of Pineville, La.; three sons, William Tilmon Orton, Jr. and wife, Kristy, of Galveston, Texas, Howard Orton and wife, Myrtle, of Prairieville, La., and Michael Patrick Blanchard, of Durango, Colo.; 16 grandchildren, Dallas, David, Lorraine, Tammy, Patricia, Paul Howard, Robyn, Tracee, Joy, Stacie, Tesha, Somer, Daron, Sharon, Chad, and Aloha; 27 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Ruth Bailey, of Shreveport, La., and Agnes Spade, of Lexington, Va.; two brothers, Mark Knight and wife, Louise, of Rosepine, La., and Tom Knight and wife, June, also of Rosepine; and Grandmaw's three dogs, Quenie, Joe, and Ro-Roo. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. T. Orton, Sr.; her second husband, Burton Blanchard; and her daughter, Ethel Lanell Mills.
