Mrs. Louise Dowdy, 81, of Fairfield, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. She was born in Fairfield on May 27, 1927, and moved back to Fairfield in 1979. Funeral services for Mrs. Dowdy were held on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Skinner, Bro. Bubba Rutherford and Bro. Buddy Turner officiated with burial following at Fairfield Cemetery. Mrs. Dowdy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Franklin Dowdy; her sons Robert E. Dowdy and wife Bonnie, Bruce W. Dowdy and wife Connie, and Thomas J. Dowdy and wife Debbie; her grandchildren Chris Dowdy, Matthew Jameson and wife Christi, Paige Santell and husband Darrell, Nikki Kessling and husband Russell, Tommy Dowdy and Franky Dowdy; her great grandchildren Kirsten and Loren Dowdy, Lindsey, Noah and Hannah Jackson, Stacy, Buffa and Brandon Santell; her sister Florence Mullins and husband Pat; her sister-in-law Janeen Ivy; her half brothers Ronald Ivy and Henry Ivy; her Uncle Rayford Lancaster and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Ivy; her mother Louetta Gregory; her sister Birdy Palmer and her brother Sanford Ivy. Joyce was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and an especially proud grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield was in charge of the arrangements.
