Bio
Robert Franklin Dowdy, 92 of Fairfield Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, December 5, 2015. He moved to Fairfield in 1979 after retiring from the Houston Police Dept. Robert is survived by sons, Robert E. Dowdy & wife Bonnie, Bruce W. Dowdy & wife Connie, Thomas J. Dowdy & wife Debbie, grandchildren Chris Dowdy & wife Tina, Matthew Jackson & wife Christi, Paige Santell and husband Darrell, Nikki Kessling and husband Russell, Tommy Dowdy, Franky Dowdy & wife Roselle, great grandchildren Kirsten, Samuel, Jackson, Emma and Fiona Dowdy, Loren Botma and husband Samuel, Lindsey Hendry and husband Kyle, Noah and Hannah Jackson, Stacy, Bubba, and Brandon Santell, Miles and Ivy Kessling, great-great grandchildren Arianna and Dane Botma, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce Louise Dowdy. Robert is a World War 11 Veteran. He enlisted in the Marine Corp, December 9, 1941 and served his country for 32 months in the Pacific. After he returned, he married Joyce and then served 26 years on the Houston Police Dept. He was loved dearly and will be missed by his family and many, many dear friends. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the River of Life Family Worship Center, 1201 E. Commerce Street, Fairfield, Texas. Interment will follow at the Fairfield Cemetery. Robert lived to be 91 years, 1 month and 23 days old.
