Bio

The Clay County Sun (Clay Center, NE), Thursday, October 22, 1953; pg. 5 HENRY LOUIS WOLFE (Obituary) Henry Louis Wolfe was born on March 11, 1876 near Fairfield, Nebraska. He made his home on a farm south and east of Clay Center, Nebraska from 1906 to 1945 at which time he retired from the farm and moved to Clay Center. He passed away on October 13, 1953 at the Mary Lanning hospital, following an illness of several months at the age of 77 years, seven months and two days. Mr. Wolfe was married to Bessie Frances Muzik on April 27, 1903. To this union was born three children. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, two daughters, Helen of Mount Dora, Florida and Pauline of Hastings, Nebraska; one son, Edward of North Platte, Nebraska and four grandchildren, Gwyne of Mt. Dora, Fla., Bruce and Beth of Hastings and Ronnie of North Platte. Funeral services were held at the home on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Carroll Lemon of Lincoln officiating. The McLaughlin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. A musical selection was sung by Dale Hultine. Pallbearers were Leo Burghart, Ralph Godtel, Louis Wolfe, Vit Wolfe, Oswald Wolfe, and Ben Kavalec. Those from a distance attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wolfe, Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. George Wolfe, Harvard, Mr. and Mrs. L. W Kinsman of North Platte, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Temple of Lexington, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kotyza and Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Ehardt Knoblauch and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kavalec, all of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Godtel, McCook, Mr. Henry Godtel, Culbertson, Miss Kathryn Canfield, Miss Inez Mae Latta and Miss Betty Kelso, all of Grand Island, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Belka and Mrs. Alice Longnecker of Crete.
