Bio

J. S. Newman was John Siler Newman, born in Lincoln County, TN to Randolph and Elizabeth Siler Newman. He was one of eight children, a brother to Sarah Jane, Randolph R., Martin, and Simpson Newman, among others. Suggested edit: John S. Newman, 82, died in Hardeman County, Texas. Services were held in Quanah and the body was brought to Saint Jo on the night of the 7th with Undertaker C.H. Dunbar in charge. W.G. Masten of Illinois Bend took charge of the body with burial on Friday afternoon after a short service.t Jo Tribune August 15, 1919
