Mary R. Vaughan passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008, after a long illness. She was born October 23, 1932, daughter to John and Teresa Malish Manak. She grew up in Ennis, Texas, and lived most of her life in Longview, Texas, where she raised her six children. She was fluent in two languages and loved to read. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her many family members and will always be remembered and revered by her loved ones. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, volunteered at Good Shepherd Medical Center and worked as a librarian for the Longview Public Library. Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Vaughan. She is survived by her two sons, Johnny Vaughan and wife, Tammy of Athens, Alabama, and James Vaughan and wife, Jeanie of Hallsville; four daughters, Rose Dubiel and husband, Terry of Houston, Georgia Hines and husband, Ross of Bryan, Angela Cox and husband, Jim of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Lorrie Neal and husband, Dayrel of Tatum; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Manak and wife, Joanne; and two sisters, Ann Melin and Rose Mitchell. Mass of Christian burial for Mary Vaughan, 75, of Longview, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Father Bruce Lincoln officiating. Internment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
