Bio

Ann Frances Melin, 85, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015, in Waxahachie, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015, with Rosary at 7 p.m., in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Waxahachie with interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis. Ann was born in Kaufman, County, Texas, to the late John and Theresa (Malish) Manak. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School and went on to El Centro College and received her LVN. On April 28, 1947, she married Charlie J. Melin and they made their home in Dallas, then to Lancaster for 17 years, and finally to Waxahachie. Ann worked for Silent Night Nursing Home for over ten years as an LVN, and Scarborough Fair for 15 years, and Screams for five years. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, KJZT, Altar Society, Waxahachie Senior Activity Center and St. Joseph Clothing Center. She also enjoyed fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie J. Melin, on September 14, 1996. Survivors include her sons: Carl Joseph Melin and wife, Becky, Samuel Joseph Melin, Henry Joseph Melin, and Louis Joseph Melin and wife, Kimberly; daughters: Theresa Ann Smith and husband, Chuck, Janie Ann Bowling and husband, George, and Mary Ann Hullett; 14 grandchildren: 16 great-grandchildren: two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Manak and wife, JoAnn; sister, Rose Mitchell; other relatives and many friends.
