Bio

Helen, of Port Neches, passed away Monday at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. A native of Louisiana she had lived in Port Neches since 1941. She retired as a teacher with the Port Neches ISD with thirty one years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Purkey, and her sons. Jimmy Purkey Jr. and Ronnie Purkey. Survivors include her grandson, Aaron Purkey; her sisters, Gertie Deason, Catherine Bostrom, Mabel O'Neal and Pauline Taylor; two brothers, Leo Garner and Henry Garner.
