Thanks to contributor #47226369; Vernie Moraczewski Dies at 24 Funeral services were held last Thursday morning, Jul 6, for Vernie Moraczewski, 24, daughter of Felix Moraczewski, at St. Josaphat's Catholic church. The Rev. Henry Bednarczyk offered the requiem high mass. Pallbearers were Ralph and Mike Lewandowski, Philip Riskowski, Idadore Jonak, Johnny Placek, and Harold Golus. Burial was at the St. Francis Cemetery, Ashton, where the Rev. A. J. Jarzemski conducted the burial ritual. Vernie Moraczewski was born Jan. 13, 1926, to Mr. and Mrs. Felix Moraczewski, of Ashton. She attended schools in St. Paul until 1942 when she moved to Loup City with her father after the death of her mother. She graduated from Loup City high school in 1945. She was a clerk at the Pioneer Market and the Gdanitz 5 and 10 Cent Store. She was in ill health for nearly five years, but not critical until a couple of hours before her death, which occurred at the age of 24 years, five months, and 20 days. She was preceded in death by her mother on Dec. 24, 1942. She is survived by her father; two sisters, Mrs. Alvin Grabowski of Loup City and Mrs. Joe Lech of Elyria; two brothers, Dominic of Ashton and Leo of St. Paul; and by six nieces and five nephews.
