Sherman Co Times, Loup City, NE, Thu., 19 Dec 1957, p.1 Mrs. Jacob Kosmicki, 81, Succumbs At St. Paul Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Kosmicki, 81, of Ashton were held Wednesday morning at 9:15 at her home in Ashton and at 9:30 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton. The Rev. Michael Szczesny offered the Requiem high mass on the main altar and Revs. Anthony Figierski of St. Paul and Milan Kopushar of Paplin offering masses on side altars. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, John Spotanski, Clarence and Jerome Goc, Stanley, Ernest, Alfred, Raymond and Gerald Kosmicki. Burial was in the family lots at the St. Francis cemetery at Ashton, Nebraska. Rosary was held Monday evening at 8 p.m. at the Keating Mortuary in St. Paul and Tuesday at 8 p.m. at her home in Ashton. Mrs. Kosmicki died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Stefanowicz, where she was going to spend a few days visiting. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Prenczek in Poland, October 15, 1876, and came to the United States and to Chicago when an infant. She later moved to Howard County and was married Jan. 28, 1896. Mr. and Mrs. Kosmicki li8ved on farms in Sherman and Howard counties until 1948 when they retired and moved to Ashton. Mr. Kosmicki died in 1949. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Carl, Bernard and Benjamin, a brother Victor and a sister Mrs. Mary Bukowski. Survivors include five sons, Stanley of Farwell, Phillip and Victor of St. Paul, Steve of Boelus, Louis of Ashton; and six daughters, Mrs. Barbara Goc of Loup City, Elenore Stefanowicz of St. Paul, Mrs. Bridget Tomasiewicz of Genoa, Mrs. Anna Waters of Ord, Mrs. Gertrude Spotanski of Loup City and Mrs. Victoria Radke of Farwell. She is also survived by five sisters, 47 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kosmicki was a member of the Ashton Catholic Church. Contributor, Patricia #47200326
