Harley Ray Husted, 58, a resident of Dallas, died Monday, Sept. 15, in Vancouver, Wash. He was born on Jan. 15, 1950, in Corvallis, the son of Ray Leonard and Clella Capitola Husted. Harley graduated from Falls City High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and received several medals including the Purple Heart. He worked at the Maclaren School for Boys in Woodburn for 12 years. He married Judy Irene Graham on Feb. 14, 1976, in the Falls City Methodist Church. Harley worked as the coordinator for the Wild Land Fire Fighters and, with his wife, ran two adult foster care homes in Corvallis. They moved to Dallas in 2002. Harley is survived by his wife Judy of Dallas; children J.D. Husted of Medford, Mickie Leann Bowen of Springfield, Bobby Lorensen and Anna Lorensen both of Falls City along with grandchildren Zachary, Boo, Christopher, Thomas, James, Shasta, Dakota and Ruby and one great-grandson Evan. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Ferguson and brother Michael Husted, both of Albany, and sister Penny Stephens of Waterloo. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at the home of Harley and Judy Husted with military honors presented. The Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is handling the arrangements.
