Bio

Mrs. Bill (Jewel) Bailey, 81, of Waco, a longtime resident of Bellmead, died Saturday morning at a Waco hospital. Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West, the Rev. James Adams officiated. Burial followed in Olive Branch Cemetery near Leroy. Mrs. Bailey was born Nov. 6, 1900, in Williamson County near Georgetown. She lived in the Leroy-Axtell area for many years before moving to Bellmead in 1949. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her husband died in 1973. Survivors include a son, Billie Bailey of Mount Calm; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Holloway and Mrs. Jean (Joy) Jupe, both of West; four sisters: Mrs. Dora Dyess of Houston, Mrs. Linda Casey of Salado, Lela Boydston of Belton and Gladys Mosley of Lacy-Lakeview. Twelve grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Marvin Bailey, Bubba Bailey, Kevin Jupe, Ricky Jupe, Scooter Zucha and Dusty Lane.
