Bio

Obituary provided by Mathilde Wiewiorowski Young : Obituary (from the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home website): Margaret Joyce Kemp, 91, of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025. She was born May 6, 1934, in Prosper, Texas, to W.W. "Bill" and Musa (Smith) Jeanes. On January 10, 1952, she married the love of her life, Billy R. Kemp, in Anna, Texas. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community. Margaret began her career with Texas Instruments, but her greatest joy and true calling was being a devoted stay-at-home mother. Later in life, she spent many years working at New Hope Grocery, where her Tuesdays and Thursdays became a cherished routine. There, Margaret formed countless friendships and became a familiar, welcoming face to neighbors and friends alike. She is survived by her sons, Mike Kemp and wife, Carol, and Biji Kemp and wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Clayton Kemp, Kaitlin Kemp, Colin Kemp and wife, Ruth; brother, Kenneth Jeanes and wife, Carey; brother-in-law, Bob Mitchell: and numerous other loving family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Kemp; son and daughter-in-law, David and Robin Kemp; grandchildren, Jeremy Kemp and Sara Kemp; brother, Bob Jeanes and wife, Betty Sue; and sisters, Billy Doyce Stephens and husband, John, Lanell Sapp, and Patsy Ruth Mitchell. Margaret will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Melissa Cemetery, 422 East Melissa Road, Melissa, Texas 75454 for a committal service. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening, September 30, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. In place of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations made to Mission Regan , a local nonprofit bridging the gap between surplus and need. They collect and distribute medical supplies to those in desperate need —locally and globally-while building lasting relationships and learning from those we serve.
