Bio

d/o William Gavin Brown and Mary Katherine "Katie" Raburn. After her Mother's death in 1917 (when Mittie was just age 12) she had to quit school in order to take care of the household and help raise her 2 younger brothers. She continued her education by becoming an avid reader. She was regarded as a highly honest woman, and admired for her excellent cooking. She had 6 children over a span of 28 years. She had at least 1 child in school for 40 consectutive years.
