Friday December 11, 1931 Arlington Citizen DEATH OF A FORMER RESIDENT Funeral services were conducted at Arlington cemetery Wednesday afternoon for John Walker [sic] Carter, a former citizen of this county. He was the son of Rev. G. L. Carter, deceased Baptist minister, who lived here for many years and reared his family in this community. J. W. Carter was a business man, as well as a farmer until he moved to Dallas about thirty years ago. He is survived by wife, mother, Mrs. Rachel Carter of Garland, Texas; three sons, B. A. and Jack of Dallas and Jess of San Angelo; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Middleton, Mrs. Nola Willis and Miss Gloria Carter, all of Dallas; Mrs. Lillie Luckie of Corpus Christi. Funeral services Sparkman Chapel 2 p. m. Wednesday, conducted by Rev. W. H. Wynn of Dallas officiating. Pallbearers were Joe Irwin, Claude Jaggers, Lewis Runck, W. M. Gilbert, George W. Scott and J. T. Marshall.
