Bio
Dennis T. Murray, age 62, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his home with his family at his side. Dennis was born July 15, 1946, in Chicago, Ill., and served in the United States Army. He was known as a hard worker, working as a welder for different companies in Indiana prior to moving to Joplin in the mid 1970s, where he continued his hard work in welding, working for several local companies including his most recent employment with B and D Fabrication. He loved to fish and enjoyed playing pool with his friends and participated in some local tournaments. Dennis married Carol V. Sachs on Dec. 1, 1975, in Elkhart, Ind. She survives. Additional survivors include his sons, Dennis W. Murray, of Joplin, and Butch Dennis Murray, of Joplin; a daughter, Tracy Sullins, of Joplin; his mother, Dorothy Maddox, of Okeechobee, Fla.; sister, Pat Pegan, of Niles, Mich.; and grandchildren, Faith V.L. Murray and Dennis Todd Murray, both of Springfield, Mo., Dalton Sullins, Steven Sullins and Justice Murray, all of Joplin. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
