Dorothy D. Maddox July 28, 1918 – April 23, 2013 LAPORTE – Dorothy D. Maddox, 94 of LaPorte passed away at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at her granddaughter's residence. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 28, 1918. Dorothy is survived by her son, Ross (Pam) Phillips of Knox, IN, a daughter Patricia (Roger) Pegan of Niles, MI, 8 Grandchildren; Jennifer Green, Jason (Rachel) Phillips, Dakota Phillips, Carrie (José) Bonce, Brandy (Danny) Pace, Heather West, Tamara (Doug) Bagarus and Brent Hemphill and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, a son Dennis Murry, her first husband Allen Phillips, her second husband Kenneth Maddox, 2 sisters and 2 great grandchildren, Seth Oylla and Brianna Pace. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting and painting. She loved to socialize with friends over coffee; enjoyed going to flea markets, reading, keeping diaries and completing word searches. A memorial service has been planned for Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Full Gospel House of Prayer, 2700 Ohio Street, Michigan City, IN 46360 starting at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Dennis Pickens will be officiating. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
