Bio

The Columbus Democrat, September 3, 1886 WELCH--Monday, Aug. 30, Harriet Rose Welch, wife of Moses Welch of Shell Creek, and mother of our townsman, Jonas Welch, died at her home at Shell Creek. Deceased was born in Dersetshire, Eng., Dec. 29, 1811. She came to Nebraska with her husband in 1857, and they made their home on the Pawnee reservation for twelve years, after which they removed to Shell Creek, where they have since lived. The funeral services were held Wednesday, and her remains were interred in the cemetery at Shell Creek. Mrs. Welch was a pleasant lady, whose loss is mourned by her family and many friends.
