Bio

Funeral services for Edward Ernst Loseke, 82, Leigh, were held Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, Leigh. Rev. J. Arden Wild officiated with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Shell Creek, Columbus. Edward Loseke was born Jan. 15, 1903, in Colfax County, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Schutt Loseke. He attended rural schools in Colfax County. On Dec. 22, 1931, he married Lacuta Wachal at David City. They farmed in Leigh until moving to Leigh in 1962. He served as Calvary Cemetery treasurer for many years at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. He was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood. Mr. Loseke died unexpectedly Nov. 7 at their home in Leigh. Survivors include his wife, Lacuta; three sons, Gale E., Winnetoon, Dean E., Schuyler and Harley R., Richland; one daughter, Mrs. Lee (Adria) Krueger, Richland; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Elmer, Walter and Clarence and one sister, Ruby Akers. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and three sisters. Rozanek Funeral Home, Leigh, was in charge of arrangements.
