Donald E. Halford WEISER — Donald E. Halford, 65, of Weiser, died Monday, June 25, 1990, at a Boise hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Thomason Funeral Chapel, Weiser. Don was born July 31, 1924, at Ogden, Utah, a son of Theodore Melvin and Chloe Orgill Halford. He was reared and educated at Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1942. He served in the U.S Army for four years during World War II. Upon returning to Ogden he married Claramae Hinton on Aug. 31, 1946. He began his career with the Safeway stores in January, 1948, and remained with the company for 32 years, 25 were spent managing stores in Ogden, Buhl and Weiser where they had resided since 1967. He retired from Safeway in 1978 and then enjoyed being greenskeeper at Rolling Hills Golf Course until his retirement in 1985. Don was an avid golfer and a member of the Rolling Hills Golf Course. He loved his family, home and yard. His hobbies included golfing, gardening, reading and he loved to listen to big band music. Survivors include his wife, Claramae of Weiser; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Michael Brown of Belleview, Wash., Donette and Richard Hammond of Middleton, Karen Halford of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Patti Milford of Boise; 12 grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lillian Tuft of Campbell, Calif., and Verna and Carl Young of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. The family suggests that memorials may be made in his name to the friends of the hospital, 645 E. 5th, Weiser 83672; the American Heart Association, c/o Mrs. C.O.
