Obituary: STANDARD-EXAMINER Ogden, Weber Co., UT Tuesday, 17 August 2004 Verna Halford Young, 83, died on Friday, Aug 13, 2004, from causes incident to age. She was born on December 4, 1921, in Ogden, Utah, to Theodore Melvin Halford and Chloe Orgill Halford. She was reared in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School. Verna married the love of her life, Carl John Young, on October 26, 1940, in Peterson, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. Verna was a member of the South Ogden 14th Ward and 2nd Ward of the L.D.S. Church, and held various positions in the Sunday School and Relief Society. She also served a Utah L.D.S. Mission. She was honored to serve her Heavenly Father. Verna is survived by three daughters, Carol Ann Young (William G.) Francis, Joan Young Hugues, and Sandra Young (Albert C.) Cheney. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah....
