Great Uncle Jim was father to William D Gooden and grandfather to Joseph Jackson Gooden. He had been married to Alice Harper but was divorced at the time of his death. Obit: Birth: unknown Death: Jun., 1931 Friday June 26, 1931 Arlington Citizen DEATH OF JIM GOODEN George Gooden received a message yesterday of the passing of his brother, Jim Gooden, aged 57, at his home in Dallas Wednesday night. Mr. Gooden was reared within six miles of Arlington, having moved away about twenty-five years ago, but is known by many old time friends of this community. He leaves one son, Willie and two grandchildren who reside in California. Four brothers: George Gooden of this city, Will, and Doc. of Dallas, Sam of Corsicana, and four sisters, Mrs. Daisy Garner, Mrs. Lily Bond and Fred Gillespie of Dallas, and Mrs. R. J. Lowry of McAllister, Okla. Interment was at Arlington cemetery this morning at 9 o'clock. Rev. Simmons of Dallas officiating.
