Bio

Obituary Dorothy Marie Zaidle traveled to her heavenly home on January 15, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born on July 27, 1929 in Ennis, Texas, to Charles and Dora Chmelar. She grew up in the Telico and Crisp areas. On June 16, 1945, she eloped with her love Willie "Bill" Zaidle. They made their home in Ennis, Texas. Dorothy enjoyed going to "tacky dances" and helping at her parent's grocery store. Listening to Czech music was an enjoyable past time for her, and she loved attending the National Polka Festival parade every year. For a short time, Dorothy worked at Ennis Business Forms and was eventually a homemaker where she loved cleaning, was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening. She was happiest when she was at home with her family. Dorothy was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the SPJST. Dorothy and Bill had four children: Carol, Linda, Randall and Danny. They moved to Lancaster, Texas when the children were growing up, but came back to settle on a family farm, in Ennis, Texas, later moving to town. Dorothy is survived by her son Randall Zaidle; grandchildren Kevin Collard, Kim Pechal and her husband Tommy; Brandi Harper and her husband Kevin; Rannette Woodall and her husband Aaron; and great grandchildren Makenzie Collard; Sydney Heil and her husband Ben; Holden Harper; and Mason Harper; Axton and Byrdie Woodall; Jesse Swindell; Kylie Collard and Coltyn Stanford.
