Son of Louis and Ida (Fries) Benson Robert L Benson 1601 College Ave Age 62 passed away in St Luke's Hospital Aug 5 1972. Mr Benson was born in Racine on Jul 30 1910. In Racine on Feb 26 1937, he was married to Mildred S Anderson. He was a member of St James Episcopal Church of Batavia NY. Mr Benson was a graduate of Marquette University, member of the Honorary Engineering Society Tau Beta Pi, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Tool Engineers, Wisconsin Professional Engineer and Ordnance Society. He had been employed at Massey (Harris) Ferguson Inc from 1939 to 1957. He was at the Racine plant for 7 years and during the War years managed the Tank Plant in Racine. He was then transferred Batavia NY where he was works manager for 11 years. In 1957 he returned to Wisconsin and was a management consultant with the United States Government Department of the Navy Great Lakes until retiring in 1970. Surviving are his wife Mildred, 2 sons and dil Mr and Mrs R Louis (Kathleen) Benson of Annapolis MD and Mr and Mrs John S (Georgia) of Racine, grandchildren, sister Mrs Hazel Heibering of Scottsdale AZ. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home the Rev Lester B Singleton will officiate. Friends may call today (Mon)...
