Edwin was born July 10, 1921, to George and Ella V. Dunston in Burwell, Neb., before moving to Cheyenne at the age of three. He spent three years in the National Guard - April 1938 to February 1941. Less than one year before World War II erupted, the 115th Calvary Regiment of the Wyoming National Guard went into Federal services on Feb. 24, 1941. The regiment was commanded by Col. C.B. Heseltine and was stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash. Mr. Dunston was discharged from the U.S. Army on Dec. 7, 1945, at Fort MacArther, Calif. He was the sole owner of the Dunston Lathe and Plastering Company until he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Zion Congregational Church, American Legion Post No. 6, Moose Lodge and the Elks. Mr. Dunston was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold.
