Evelyn M. (Gable) Morgan, age 99 passed away October 11, 2024 at the Kimball County Manor. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Kimball on Friday October 18, 2024 at 10:00 am with Father C.P. Varghese officiating. The Rosary will be at 9:30 prior to the funeral. Inurnment next to Merle will be held for family members at a later date at the Kimball Cemetery. Evelyn was born in Shelby, NE on March 17, 1925 to Frank and Marie (Korger) Gable. She graduated from Shelby High School. Following graduation, she worked at Swift & Company in Omaha where she met her future husband, Merle E. Morgan. They were married on May 14, 1946 in Shelby, NE. To this union were born four daughters, Jean, Lois, Joyce & Janet and a son, Craig. They lived in Columbus until 1951 when they moved to Kimball, NE where she resided until her death. Evelyn was a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Rosary Altar Society. She was known for the love and support for her family and community. She enjoyed being a Bluebird and Campfire Leader and Room Mother when her children were young. She was also a member of MYH Extension Club and Firemen's Auxiliary for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Merle, her parents Frank and Marie Gable, five sisters, Agnes Kuta, Helen Matya, Irene Smith, Betty Watts & Norma Jean Volquardson and two brothers, Edward Gable & Donald Gable, son-in-law Bob Barrett, daughter Janet Adels and great grandson Sgt. Nathan Byers. Evelyn is survived by her children Jean Barrett, Lois (Larry) Poessnecker, Joyce (Leonard) Reed, Craig (Beth) Morgan and son-in-law, Dennis Adels, grandchildren Sonya (Tim) Beyers, Julie (Craig) Bennigsdorf, Cindy (Tom) Birner, Scott (Lauren) Reed, Mark (Michelle) Adels, Tami (Tom) Kopitnik, Jim (Kellie) Barrett, Brad (Heather) Adels, Lisa (Jeremiah) Krysl, Jeff (Jennifer) Poessnecker, Lindsay Morgan & Joshua Morgan, 26 great-grandchildren & 4 great-great grandchildren.
