Funeral services for LaVern Lehnert, age 100, of Bloomfield, Nebraska will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Reverend Jacob Bobby will officiate, with burial in Bloomfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements. LaVern died Friday, December 12, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society in Bloomfield. LaVern Barbara Lehnert, daughter of Fred and Mary (Krueger) Herbolsheimer, was born March 22, 1925, at her parent's farm near Pierce, Nebraska. She was baptized on April 15, 1925, and confirmed on May 1, 1938, at St. John's Lutheran Church. LaVern attended Pierce District #20 rural school, St. John's Lutheran School, and graduated from Pierce High School in 1943. After graduation, LaVern worked in a grocery store and bakery. She was united in marriage to Ralph William Lehnert on January 18, 1947, in Foster, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Eugene and LuAnn. In 1951, LaVern and Ralph moved to Bloomfield where they owned and operated the Bloomfield Bakery for 30 years before retiring in 1979. They enjoyed wintering in Texas after retirement. LaVern was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, First Trinity Ladies Aid and the Prayer Shawl program. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, Women's Bowling Association, and Rolling Hills Golf Course. She enjoyed going to Senior Citizens to play cards and later enjoyed playing bingo. In 2023, LaVern was honored to attend her 80th class reunion at Pierce High School along with four of her classmates who were still living. LaVern is survived by her children, Eugene Lehnert of Ocean Spring, MS and LuAnn (Gary) Jessen of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Lehnert, Ellen (Luis) Febles, Ricky Jessen, and Sheila (Brian) Fenton; great-grandchildren, Kendal, Camryn, Ian, Noah, Alex, Skyler, Tuft, Taylor, and Rylynn; and sister-in-law, Peg Lehnert. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Krueger; husband, Ralph; four brothers and two sisters.
