Mrs. John (Cora) Reesman, daughter of Jacob and Nancy Jane Ritchey, was born May 13, 1871, at Mt. Moriah, Harrison County, MO. She passed away at the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in Fairbury, on Oct. 1, 1964 at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 17 days. She was one of a family of eight children. She was married to John Reesman at Wilbur, Nebr., in 1891. They made their first home near Daykin, Nebr., where Mr. Reesman was engaged in farming and a rural mail carrier. In 1932, they moved to their home in Fairbury, when Mr. Reesman retired from farming. He passed away Nov. 2, 1951. Mrs. Reesman made her home with her niece, Mrs. Esther Hurst, for five years, until she entered the Memorial home. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Pearl, Mabel, Lucretia, and Alta, two brothers, Bert and Sig, and her husband John. She is survived by a brother Joseph Ritchey of Hastings, by many relatives friends and neighbors. Cora Reesman kept her mind nimble and alert through her long years by maintaining an interst in her friends, of the Thimble Club, the Womens Relief Corps, and many other interests. She was a member of the Fairbury Methodist Church having united in Oct. 1964. Funeral services wee held Monday morning at 10 a.m. at the Fairbury Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Littrell officiating. Burial was in the Fairbury cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Knocke, Norman Covey, Claude O'connor, Tom Bennett, Harry McCord, and Harvey Bliss.
